“Secrets” of the bikini competitor

Hi Guys! Hope you are having a good week! I was thinking about preparing for my first competition and how much I have learned since then. I wanted to talk about a few secrets bikini girls use that are not often talked about and if they are talked about they are usually taboo.

I have posted about some of these secrets on other websites (like one that rhymes with smodysmildingdotbomb) with some criticism. I wanted to share them here to see if you have used them and what your thoughts are. Yes I do realize that they don’t really have anything to do with health and fitness, but competitors use these tricks to get an edge in a very competitive sport. Although I do feel like some of these items are gimmicky I did use the squeem with some success since I have a naturally wide waist (I am built like a ruler lol).

1. The squeem- Basically a brazilian girdle. This thing cinches your waist in big time. And while the results are not super long lasting, many claim that wearing it at least 8 hours a day helps to shrink their waist, creating more of an hour glass appearance.

2. Neoprene shorts/wraps- Working out with them helps reduce water weight and bloat so you appear slimmer. Make sure you are replacing the water that you sweat out though!!

3. Beauty Bum- This is a “fat burning” cream that some competitors swear by. If you have cellulite this cream might help smooth it out.

Have you used any of these “secrets?” Do you have any others to share? I’d love to hear your thoughts.

BTW If you found these tips helpful make sure you check out my guidebook for bikini competitors “Secrets of the Bikini Competitor” where I share more secrets for rocking the stage and winning your competition.

  1. Good to know! I hadn’t even thought of those before!

I am competing in my first bikini competition next April 2014 (Emerald Cup) and I love any tips and tricks. I was thinking that hot yoga would be a great way to shed water weight while also stretching sore, tight muscles. I struggle with cellulite and have found hot yoga to be extremely helpful in the past. However, it was most effective 4-5 times a week, and I don’t think I have time for that AND building muscle, AND extreme dieting.

I’ve heard really great things about the cream you mentioned, I’ll definitely have to look into that! Thank you! Excited to more tips and tricks 🙂

Cool! Good luck on your competition! The cream is one thing I haven’t tried… but I am curious about it, too.
